DiDi’s Dreams is reminiscent of Kangsi Coming and fans will adore it

As you watch Didi’s Dreams (吃吃的爱), the twelve years running Taiwanese variety program, Kangsi Coming (康熙來了) comes to the fore of your mind.

To many’s dismay, the iconic talkshow came to an abrupt end when Kevin Tsai – one of the hosts on the show – decided to call it quits after twelve years. This comedy film, Didi’s Dreams may be one way for fans to take a trip down memory lane.

Kevin Tsai makes his directorial debut with this hilarious rom-com that also has some elements of fantasy imbued in it. The movie also features his co-host, Dee Hsu, most known for her witty sarcasm on Kangsi Coming.

Plot

While Hsu may be a highly sought-after host and actress in Taiwan, she takes on a contrasting role of an aspiring starlet who wants to make a name for herself. The arduous auditions that she faced did little to dampen her tenacity in proving herself before her megastar sister Lingling (Lin Chi-ling). Both of them feel that the grass is greener on the other side – Didi yearns to taste success whereas Lingling craves for a simpler life.

In a twist of events, Didi also connects with her Chun Mei – essentially her split personality – who is also an intriguing noodle seller in outer-space.

Paying homage to the talkshow

Fans of the variety talkshow would easily identify with the inside jokes, especially those made in the course of the show’s running.

There are also guest appearances by familiar faces on Kangsi Coming, in the likes of producer Shen Yu Lin (沈玉琳) and Chen Han-dian (陳漢典).

As many would know, Hsu’s great sense of humour and striking personality are why she draws legions of fans across Asia – including Singapore, Hong Kong and China. Likewise, you would be able to have a taste of her mercurial moments in the film.

In fact, you won’t find that surprising given her sudden outbursts on Kangsi Coming at times.

Image via Chengchengfilm.

Hsu’s persona may be amplified here but it suffices to entertain the audience and fans of the variety show. On the contrary, Tsai stands in line with his usual personality with his narration in a calm and collected tone.

Taiwanese supermodel Lin Chi-ling, close friend of Hsu joins in the fun

Hsu’s close friend, Lin Chi-ling stars in the humourous Didi’s Dream as a top-notch actress whom Didi want to her prove her mettle to. Off-screen, Dee Hsu and Lin Chi-ling are reported to be good friends who like to banter with each other, in the name of fun.

Image via Asianpopnews.

Well, we aren’t complaining because this is a duo that emanates good vibes even when they are supposedly “dissing” each other. Isn’t that what close friends do after all?

Image via Chengchengfilm.

At the end of the day, Kangsi Coming will forever be etched in our hearts as one of the most engaging, uplifting and light-hearted Taiwanese talkshows of all time. Besides, many scenes in the movie do remind us of the good old times where guests on the show fascinate us with their raw authenticity as well as crack us up with their amusing anecdotes.

If you’re a fan of the Kangsi Coming talkshow, Didi’s Dreams is one great way you can relive the good old days.

Swedish tourist Wickstrom speaks up on bad Singapore Michelin-star hawker stall experience

Recently, 25-year-old Musicology student Sebastian Wickstrom sent out an opinion piece about his negative experience with the Michelin Star Hong Kong Soya Chicken and Noodle over at Chinatown Complex last July 4, 2017.

Extra long queues because of bulk orders

In our previous post, Wickstrom said that he went to queue before opening at the Michelin Star hawker stall and expected a wait of 20 minutes because of the length of the queue which was fifteen people. Long lines are expected at this hawker stall thanks to it’s reputation and the one Michelin Star awarded.

He ended up waiting for more than an hour, though, when two persons in front of him in the line ordered 60 meals each and distributed the packages to men in yellow uniforms, who seemed to be advertising hawker stall delivery services.

We got in touch with Wickstrom, who has traveled regularly to Singapore since his parents live here. See the interview below:

It says on your profile that you study in Europe. Why were you visiting Singapore at the time?

My parents have lived in Singapore for a number of years. This is certainly not my first visit to Singapore. I come here as often as I can because Singapore is an amazing place and I absolutely love it here! Due to my studies in Scotland and Sweden I have been unable to visit as much as I’d like but I’ve made sure to visit two times per year in the summer and winter months.

While I would not compare my knowledge of Singapore with the locals I am not really your regular tourist as I have spent a fairly large amount of time here.

What were the reactions of the other people in the queue when the large orders were placed?

I don’t know if anyone else really took notice, but if they did they didn’t make any noise about it in public as far as I’m aware. There was a mix of tourists and locals in the line.

I think the reason people didn’t quite realize is that the orders came from people in plain clothing and was then picked up by the yellow shirts with company advertising on them.

The thing to remember about this particular Hawker stall is that people are mentally prepared to wait, and the line moves slowly even when serving regular customers so it’s less of an immediately noticeable stop in the line, it just kind of stops moving completely and since people are already mentally prepared for a long wait perhaps the complete stoppage of the line doesn’t feel that out of place in their mind.

Did you bring up your concern regarding the queue with the hawker stall employees? If you did, what was their response?

No, at the point that I got my order I was thoroughly pissed off and hungry so I just sat down and ate what turned out to be an okay but very disappointing meal. Besides, they were busy, I doubt they would have taken the time to answer my complaint and I didn’t want to hold up the line for people behind me who also were affected by the catered orders that were in front of me.

As I wrote before in the original piece, the catered orders didn’t come from people advertising that they work for a Hawker pickup service. Why would they not wear company shirts? It would probably piss people off to end up just behind the guy who is going to put down an order that takes 30 minutes to fill.

Wickstrom at a food centre in Singapore (Photo provided by Wickstrom)

Despite your experience with the long queue, what did you think of the Soya Chicken meal?

I was rather disappointed to be honest. The whole marketing ploy with the Michelin star and the usually 2-hour long queue had raised the expectation of the food to a really high standard. Even after the catered order ordeal I expected it to be amazing, why would they otherwise get a star? But it was your run of the mill noodle and duck, rice and pork etc.

It felt like any shop that sells these items could recreate it, and I’m sure they do and some with a superior quality as well. Soy Chicken was bang average. It tasted good, but did not really stand out. But then again, do you expect people to stand in a 2 hour line for just good food? No you stand in line to get incredible food, certified as such with a Michelin star.

The only thing I was really enjoying was the bean sprouts! Delicious! But then again, Michelin star worthy? I’m not a food critique, but I know my food and I highly doubt it.

When did you write your opinion piece? Directly after the experience or at a later time?

I said jokingly at the time that I was gonna write to someone about this but then I went on with my day. I forgot about it for a day but then on the 6th we started talking about it again and I realized that I was in fact still a bit pissed off about the whole thing and that I had forgotten to write the piece.

I wrote the piece on the 6th (of July), didn’t really put that much effort into it, took maybe 39 minutes to write and then 30 minutes of figuring out who to email it to.

How did you decide on the list of recipients of the piece? How did you send it?

I started by sending the email to every email address I could find on different newspapers in Singapore. After I sent that off I googled what the biggest food blogs in Singapore were (I don’t follow blogs in general so I have no idea who is popular etc.) and sent it to the people on a random “top 20 hottest food blogs” list.

In total maybe 60 email addresses were sent my original email. Feel free to print the original email as well, not just the article itself, if you feel like it.

This interview has been edited for readability.

Check out Wickstrom’s original piece.

Singapore billionaire Peter Lim’s daughter revealed her wedding date in an Instagram post on Friday (21 July), three days after giving birth to a boy.

Kim Lim, 24, posted a video showing the invitation with words: “Save the Date 23rd March 2018”.

Instagram Photo

On Friday morning, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who is in Singapore for a one-day stopover, visited the Lim’s family at Thomson Medical Centre.

The Real Madrid player is here to sign an endorsement deal brokered by Mint Media, a Hong Kong-based company owned by Mr Lim.

The billionaire owns and manages the player’s image rights, except those related to Real Madrid, local media reported.

The family’s spokesperson told local media that Ms Lim had married earlier and would prefer not to reveal the identify of her husband.

Who is Kim Lim’s husband?

Ms Lim has not revealed the identify of her child’s father.

However, past local media reports have said she is rumoured to be engaged to Hong Kong Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho’s son – Mario Ho Yau Kwan.

Both had posted photos on their Instagram accounts on 31 December 2015 supposedly announcing the news.

Though the photos are no longer available, Ho, 22, wrote along with the photo on his Instagram (@momomarioho): “Beyonce told me if I like something, I should put a ring on it. Well, I liked it so I put my ring on it ?? welcome to Macau, princess Kimmy.”

On the same day, Lim (@kimlimhl) posted a photo of them with a ring emoji.

In February last year, Lim and Ho were seen spending Valentine’s Day together in Paris, France.

He posted a photo of their hands wearing couple rings and wrote: “I want to say she’s one in a million, but that’s statistically idiotic because then there’d be 7000 of her in the world.

“Therefore, what do you do when you find the ‘one in 7 billion’? You “tie her down” with an even nicer ring.”

Mario Ho graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016 and in the same year, he was accepted into the university’s Master of Finance Program. He is the third of five children of Angela Leong, Stanley Ho’s fourth wife.

Stanley Ho is nicknamed “The King of Gambling”. In 2011, he was the 13th richest man in Hong Kong with a net worth of US$2 billion. He is also Macau’s wealthiest person and among the richest in Asia.

Forum sites are buzzing with a billion-dollar question weighing heavily on netizens’ minds – who is Singapore billionaire Peter Lim’s daughter married to?

Socialite Kim Lim, 24, made news earlier this week when Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo visited her and her father at Thomson Medical Centre, where she was warded with her newborn son.

On Friday (21 July), she posted a video showing the invitation with words: “Save the Date 23rd March 2018.”

Ms Lim has not revealed the identify of her child’s father.

Netizens have vehemently debunked the rumour that she is engaged to Hong Kong Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho’s son – Mario Ho Yau Kwan.

Posting on the forum site of online technology portal Hardwarezone, a netizen, who goes by the screen name justwalkpast, said: “Mario is not the father la. She broke up with Mario long ago la.”

Another netizen, opticloopy, chimed in adding: “Her Boyfriend not mario. Can see her bf pix from her insta, but no full face.”

Most claimed Lim’s husband to be a certain Kho.bk, going by his Instagram account.

Netizens have dug deep into the billion dollar question to share photos of Lim and Kho.bk.

Unfortunately, for the concerned netizens, the family’s spokesperson have told local media that Ms Lim, who had married earlier, would prefer not to reveal the identify of her husband.

From Chloe Wang (汪可盈) to Chloe Bennet – who is the real Chloe?

$

0

Chloe Wang (汪可盈) 0r Chloe Bennet is an American actress and singer currently playing the role of Daisy Johnson (formerly known as Skye) in the ABC spy-fi series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Why does Chloe have two names?

Which is her real name and is she Chinese?

According to her Wikipedia profile, Chloe was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States, the daughter of Stephanie Lynn Crane, an internist, and Bennet Wang, an investment banker.

Her father is Han Chinese and her mother is a Caucasian American. Following her father’s surname, her appropriate name would then be Chloe Wang.

Chloe’s grew up in an ethnically diverse family. Her well-educated parents likely embrace diversity – Chloe has six brothers: three biological, two foster and one adopted; two are African-American and one is Mexican-Filipino.

At 15, Chloe moved to China to pursue a singing career, under the name Chloe Wang (汪可盈). Her is a music video of one of her Chinese songs recorded as Chloe Wang which still can be found on YouTube:

To prove her versatility, here is an English version of the same song:

As you can see, Chloe is effectively bilingual and quite fluent in both English and Chinese. While in China, she lived with her paternal grandmother in Beijing, and studied Mandarin. She performed as a singer and then moved to Los Angeles, California.

She got her first big break on screen as a host for the short-lived TeenNick summer dance series The Nightlife. She also appeared in the 2011 music video for South Korean band BIGBANG’s extended play musical recording Tonight.

How did Chloe Wang become Chloe Bennet?

Chloe Bennet said she had changed her name from Chloe Wang because Hollywood is “racist” and would not cast her in roles because of her surname. She claims her original surname made Hollywood “uncomfortable”.

Surprise!

Who would have known Hollywood is racist?

After all, Scarlett Johansson was casted as a Japanese lead character in a live-action adaptation movie, Ghost in the Shell, based on a Japanese anime; and Matt Damon was tasked to teach the Chinese how to fight dragons in another Hollywood blockbuster, The Great Wall.

While pursuing an acting career in Hollywood, Chloe changed her name to “Chloe Bennet”, after having trouble booking gigs with her last name. According to Bennet, using her father’s first name rather than his last name avoids difficulties being cast as an ethnic Asian-American while respecting her father.

The name change seems to have worked.

From 2012-13, she played a recurring supporting role in the ABC drama series Nashville as Hailey. In December 2012, she was cast as a series regular on the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which premiered on September 24, 2013, where she portrays the character Daisy “Skye” Johnson/Quake.

In 2017 she was cast in the MGM’s musical remake of the 1983 Martha Coolidge film, Valley Girl as the “Queen Bee” Karen.

Chloe Bennet can get away with the name change because of her mixed parentage, other non-white actors and actresses may not be able to do so.

It is most appropriate for Chloe to speak on this issue now to raise the racist that is prevalent in Hollywood. Thank you Chloe Wang/Bennet, for igniting this debate on racism in Hollywood again.

Kim Lim and Jamie Chua hold parties on the same day, netizens go wild with allegations

Thanks to our hyper-vigilance on the pulse of Singaporeans on the web, we’ve come across some interesting screenshots of our favorite socialites’ online media accounts that could be enough to get us wondering.

In case you didn’t know, multi-billionaire Peter Lim’s daughter, Kim Lim, recently celebrated her baby’s 99th day in a lavish and adorable party.

Spotted at the party was Xiaxue, the queen of Singaporean bloggers, among other famous faces.

You know who else had a party on the same day?

Jamie Chua, another prominent Singaporean beauty and socialite celebrated her birthday on the same day. Not her fault for celebrating her birthday, right?

See the screencaps from her Instagram stories below:

It looks like Jamie Chua’s party was more intimate than Kim Lim’s, and catered to an adult guest list.

Now, what’s the drama, according to netizens?

According to netizens, they found IG stories on Kim Lim’s account where she seems to be very unhappy with an unnamed individual, referred to just as “old hag”. One netizen says that the issue could have stemmed from guests being torn on which party to attend if they received more than one invite for the same day.

Take a look:

Who is she referring to as an “old hag?”

Someone just called Kim Lim out on who paid for her son, Kyden’s party. Kim threatened to sue the malicious anonymous online troll.

What do netizens have to say about the posts?

The post below says that Kim is close with Arissa Cheo, Taiwan celebrity, Vanness Wu’s wife. Arissa is also the daughter of a very rich man. Arissa’s brother is alleged to be dating Jamie Chua’s daughter, according to the same post.

Arissa and her brother allegedly did not attend.

According to the post, Jamie’s daughter would obviously attend her mother’s wedding but her boyfriend is nowhere to be seen.

Other netizens say that it’s Xiaxue’s fault and that she created the drama for viewership:

That seems just about right.

Singapore Hawker Uncle vs Taxi Uncle – Who’s right and who’s wrong?

A live online video of a man berating an elderly taxi driver for not knowing his way around Singapore posted by the man himself, Dominic Neo, owner of hawker stall, Liang Ji at Bedok South Hawker Centre, is going viral online and many netizens are engaged in a fiery debate over who’s right and who’s wrong.

It’s Singapore hawker uncle versus taxi uncle. Watch the video yourself to form your own judgement:

In the video, Neo can be heard berating the elderly taxi uncle in hokkien, questioning if he should consider changing profession since he don’t know his way around Singapore.

The taxi driver replied that if he don’t drive a taxi, he don’t know what other jobs he can do as he is 50 over years old.

Neo promptly shot back at the taxi uncle, saying he himself is 52. He then sarcastically called the taxi uncle a “lao jiao (old bird or veteran)” and expressed surprise that he don’t know his way around Singapore after driving a taxi for so long.

Neo then questioned how LTA issues license to taxi drivers, given that there are drivers who don’t know their way around. He also questioned taxi operator Comfort on how they hire drivers. He thinks it’s ridiculous that taxi drivers can drive a taxi if they don’t know their way around and kept repeating the same statement again and again.

The taxi uncle kept quiet from this point and just drove on, probably to avoid getting into a prolonged debate with a disgruntled passenger.

Neo carried on his monologue, continuously berating the taxi uncle for not knowing his way and insinuated that some drivers may even deliberately say they don’t know the way so as to take passengers on long rides to jack up the fare.

What is your take on the whole saga?

Most netizens seem to perceive Neo negatively, with some calling him a loser while others egged people to boycott Neo’s hawker stall to teach him a lesson for bullying an elderly man.

Some netizens questioned if Neo was drunk when he recorded the video, but Neo clarified himself that he was not drunk, but admitted he was feeling stressed then.

Neo tried to defend himself, saying that he was just arguing with the taxi driver and not bullying him. However, a netizen quickly pointed out that when Neo mentioned about LTA and the car plate number of the taxi, it was a way of subtly threatening the taxi driver to affect his livelihood by lodging a complain to the authorities.

Neo also posted an update on his Facebook profile, lamenting how “social media good will not spread bad will spread fast”. He was referring to how he was trying to do good by organising a charity drive through an earlier Facebook post in November, but the post received little attention; conversely, his video of him berating the taxi uncle attracted loads of attention.

Should all taxi drivers be adequately familiar with the roads in Singapore to know all the short cuts?

Or should the passengers be a bit more forgiving and understanding when drivers say they are not familiar with their destinations?

Share your thoughts with us. Who are you with? Hawker uncle or taxi uncle?

Will you be boycotting Liang Ji because of this incident?

Dominic Neo probably have not heard about the incident at Toa Payoh Lor 8 Hawker Centre whereby a well-dressed couple became public enemy number one in Singapore for quarrelling with an old man and pushing him from behind.

Find out more about Dominic Neo and his famous hawker stall here.

Dominic Neo says sorry but some relentless online trolls still baying for blood

Dominic Neo (梁金义), the owner of a famous hawker stall, Liang Ji (梁记粿条王) at Bedok South Hawker Centre in Singapore, has decided to apologise to the public and an elderly taxi driver whom he berated in a video he recorded.

It’s Singapore hawker uncle versus taxi uncle in the video. Watch it yourself to form your own judgement on who’s right and who’s wrong.

Neo initially tried to defend himself and hit back at his critics, lamenting how “social media good will not spread bad will spread fast”. He was referring to how he was trying to do good by organising a charity drive through an earlier Facebook post in November, but the post received little attention; conversely, his video of him berating the taxi uncle attracted loads of attention.

In an abrupt turn, Neo admitted he was drinking before he got on the taxi and was in a depressed state because his business was not doing well. He also apologise for his actions and for causing alarm to the public.

His full apology, taken from his Facebook post is as below:

To taxi uncle ,

It is regretful for me to scold the taxi driver. A friend scolded me very fiercely and I realized it is my fault and I am very remorseful about it.

I am making a sincere apology for my action to the Taxi unclr. I hope I would be able to meet him personally to say sorry too.

From my heart, I would also like to apologise to the public too. Not an excuse but I admitted i drank a few beers before boarding the taxi that night. But this is not my excuse. I am really sorry to treat the taxi uncle without much respect. I seek the forgiveness of the public too. I was in the wrong. I did not have a very good and growing years too. I just wish to work very hard and be a responsible person.

I will continue to do reflection of myself and I promise to treat elderly with respect in future.

Unfortunately that day I was facing some personal problems and feel stressful beside the beers. But I should not vent my anger on the taxi uncle. It is not what I am and I was not at my usual self that night.

I hope the taxi uncle and the public will forgive me and give me a secind chance.

I am sincerely looking forward to meet the taxi uncle personally to return the taxi fares and ask for his forgiveness too.
As a token to show my remorse and repentance, I hereby offer the first 100 taxi drivers who come to my stall for a meal a free char kway teow. And the taxi uncle whom i have done wrong shall get free meals from me whenever he comes. Please accept my humble gestures.

Yours sincerely,
Dominic

ps : as I have a low education, I asked my friend to help me draft the above apology… sincerely from my heart

It seems that Neo has taken a leaf from another food stall owner, the boss of Yeo Keng Nam Chicken Rice, who offered free chicken rice for taxi drivers after a video of him berating and insulting a taxi driver went viral.

In his apology note, Neo has offered to serve 100 plates of free char kway teow to the first 100 taxi drivers to visit his stall. In addition, he also offered the elderly taxi driver who he berated – free char kway teow for life!

To be fair to Neo, he did not commit any crime, though what he did may be perceived to be morally wrong to many. His ‘punishment’ over the past few days, being put on trial by the internet mob seems very severe for his alleged ‘crime’ of recording a video of himself insulting a taxi driver.

Do you believe in the yellow ribbon project to give people a second chance?

We do.

This guy is already man enough to admit his mistake and offered to make amend. Shouldn’t everyone just move on and let him get on with his life? What more do the online trolls want?

Many are still baying for blood. What do these people want before they can be appeased? For Neo to commit hara kiri (Japanese samurai suicide)? For his business to wind down and for him to become broke and destitute?

Borrowing a quote from Ghandi, “an eye for eye makes the whole world blind”. Check out some of the vile comments even after Neo apologised:

Don’t you think we should learn to forgive and forget?

What is your take on this? Do you think Dominic Neo’s apology is sincere? Or is he apologising just so to save his business and reputation?

Self-proclaimed SAF Special Ops guy cheats on social media influencer with at least three other girls and a guy

$

How would you feel if the guy whom you thought could be the one was actually dating you along with three other girls and a guy?!

Chloe Teo, a Singaporean influencer, posted on social media platform DAYRE a story about how one guy named Ashry Owyong Min (we don’t know if this is his real name) allegedly built her up to believe that he was the perfect guy for her–only to have her rose-colored world burned down slowly as more and more details of his cheating were revealed.

How bad is this?

There’s your regular cheating story–and there’s this. Instead of just one guy cheating with another person, this guy has been allegedly cheating for years, with different girls–and a guy.

According to Chloe’s post (which is now taken offline, but still available on Google cache), she and Ashry were going regularly on dates, trips and various events. She said that at the start he was very sweet, kept texting and updating her on his life and opened up to her about his feelings and difficulties.

She said he told her he was in the Singapore Armed Forces’ special operations squad, even posting photos of him in uniform and training. Check out all the illustrious army badges he has sewn on his uniform. We counted at least two airborne badges and saw a Naval Diving Unit badge, awarded to the elite divers in the Singapore Navy.

Can any SAF regulars share with us if it’s possible to attain all these badges within a short period of time (given the guy’s relatively young age)?

They would supposedly go on dates, meet up, and he would often ask her to book a Grab or ride-sharing service for him as he had no cash. He would tell her he would pay her back. These are actually the smallest of his lies.

Before everything came crashing down, Chloe was brave enough to reveal that she was thinking of settling down with him. He just treated her so well and perfectly.

But it all came crashing down after a trip to Boracay, Philippines.

He had allegedly asked her to put her social media on private, and she agreed.

But she noticed that he posted an Instagram story of her and him during their trip and she thought that they would finally be an official couple, and she could tell everyone how awesome he was.

Little did she know that it would spell the end.

The trip to Boracay

From her photos of their Boracay trip, you could conclude that they were having lots of fun on the tropical island. They took numerous shots with Chloe hanging on tightly to Ashry on the beach and in the air.

She had no idea of anything wrong at this time.

She and Ashry did look like they were enjoying themselves.

Who wouldn’t be this happy to be on a gorgeous beach with someone they liked?

All smiles.

Their closeness was real–at least to her.

Without knowing all this about him, they looked pretty good together.

This trip may have cost him and Chloe a fair amount of cash if they went on various water sports.

Chloe did not mention who paid for this trip or if they shared the expense.

We’re not sure if this was taken before or after their day on the jetski and the beach.

All in all, the two of them looked like any other couple on the island. But on the way home, things changed.

Going home with more than just baggage

Chloe received a text on their journey home. She said that Ashry was next to her when she received it.

Chloe started to get a bad feeling and confronted Ashry. He said that it was his sister. she initially believed him.

But the girl who started the conversation kept texting until she felt so bad and badgered Ashry enough for him to admit that she was his ex-girlfriend.

It was still a lie.

From the moment she and Ashry got back to Singapore, it was slowly revealed to her that he wasn’t anything he said he was. Everything he told her was a lie. Here’s how it all adds up, according to Chloe, with “her” being the girl who claims to be Ashry’s actual girlfriend who lives in Japan:

1. He picked me up in a red Hyundai, said it’s his grandpa’s. Nope. It’s HER grandpa’s.

2. Picked me up in a silver car. Said it’s his dad’s. Nope. It’s HER dad’s.

3. Broken up this year since February. Nope. NOT once.

4. Goes to visit his grandparents at bullion part every week. Nope. HER grandparents. WITH HER.

5. His mom bought their engagement rings already. NOPE.

6. Had a BTO already, NOPE.

7. Said she got engaged but left, cause she loved him. NOPE.

8. He’s been in the Special Ops Force for 3 years now… Nope. Not even a single year.

9. 18th-20th oct, set out to sea for a Mission. nope. Happily spending his time with her at the beach, shopping, movies and gym.

10. He had his driving license suspended because his Brother was drink driving using his car. Nope. He never even had a license to begin with.

11. Lied about his past with regards to school. Secondary school, expelled for webcam sex scandal, went to ITE, poly then uni.

Y’all can just search la, “Ashry Owyong Min sex scandal”

Hahaha, to be honest when he told me about this, I wasn’t even disgusted. I was still telling him that everyone makes mistakes and that I’ll still love him even if my friends laughed at him and I for his wrong doings….

No really, he really doesn’t deserve my heart and my kindness.

12. Called me 5 times between 3-5am asking me if I was awake because his dad’s house is really uncomfortable to sleep at. Nope. Turns out, he fought with the other Girlfriend of his which he was supposed to stay over at, and she kicked him out… he slept at the bus stop hahaha.

Here are the photos she dug up of Ashry with his other beaus, including a boyfriend.

Chloe mentioned that he and his alleged boyfriend have more intimate photos together than her.

Here is another girl allegedly with Ashry.

That’s a lot to take in, isn’t it? What do you think Chloe felt about it all? Her Dayre post detailed how heartbroken she was, and in the end she also posted something about him even after everything.

At first, Chloe allegedly could not believe any of it and gave him the benefit of the doubt. But further conversations with him and even more girls emerging as his flings and “girlfriends” finally made her believe.

Chloe posted a farewell photo set for him on her Instagram:

Despite this horrid experience, Chloe is able to acknowledge everything and be brave enough to tell her story. We’re proud of you, Chloe!

What do you think of Ashry and his cheating ways? What would you have done in Chloe’s place? Let us know in the comments!

Who is Ole Eugenio? Who is he to Ashry Owyong Min?

In case you were off the grid the past few days, you may have missed the story about Ashry Owyong Min, the guy who has at least three girlfriends and a boyfriend–who is a self-proclaimed member of the Singapore Armed Forces’ Special Operations Force.

The original post came from influencer Chloe Teo, who detailed all the lies and the truths about her beau Ashry Owyong Min. In a very long Dayre post (that has now been taken down), Chloe detailed how Ashry cheated on her with other girls while maintaining a relationship with a guy!

The guy in question is Ole Eugenio, who is a certified yoga and Pilates instructor and also owns a popular fitness studio in the Philippines.

He’s legit about fitness

Ole Eugenio may be involved with Ashry Owyong Min, but that doesn’t mean he’s just like all the other girls who Ashry is dating. If you take a look at his profile, he has several certifications to his name with regards to yoga, Pilates and other fitness systems.

He is considered a certified teacher listed on COMO Shambhala Estate, a retreat for yoga and wellness practitioners in Bali, Indonesia.

He’s been featured on local Philippine news sites. His studio brand has already been in Singapore for a number of years. He was able to open the same brand in the Philippines.

In his Philippine studio, his clientele includes celebrities from all over South East Asia.

Here he is with Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza.

He’s also teaching yoga and fitness to South Korean celebrities.

He’s known Ashry for at least two years

He and Ashry are seen in photos together since 2015. you can find these photos on Ole’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. The earliest photo is a “then and now” post, that may mean that they’ve been together or have at least met each other much earlier than 2015.

How young do you think Ashry is in the photo above?

He and Ashry are also quite close. Some of the videos Ole uploads are of him spending time with Ashry in restaurants and on trips in both the Philippines and Singapore.

But are they really together?

There is no concrete evidence that he and Ashry are together, but some photos have surfaced online and are for public viewing on Ole’s feed that may shed light on the matter.

Here is another one where they hug and are wearing matching shirts.

Could he be the original boyfriend and all the other girls are just flings? Are they even together or are they just really close friends?

No matter what people say, you cannot deny that Ole Eugenio is an in-demand and popular Yoga and fitness instructor. He has a lot of certifications and can certainly teach people how to become healthier. His Options Studio has branches in Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore.

He’s a very successful fitness professional in his own right.

If he has a relationship with Ashry, it seems that he is happy. Either that or they are just very close friends who share an intimate bromance. Whether he is aware of Ashry and the other girls is unclear, but for someone as rich, accomplished and passionate about his craft as Ole, would it matter?

Naomi Neo: a timeline of her life from bubbly teen blogger to expecting mom

Netizens who follow local personality Naomi Neo and her life would definitely have kept up with her wedding last week, where she got married to her fiancé, H, only after a year of dating.

Her wedding video, which has already garnered more than 400,000 views, features her family’s thoughts on the wedding as well as snapshots of the actual event. While this staggering number is typical of video logs (or vlogs) by social media influencers, one cannot forget that less than 10 years ago, she started out with simple Facebook posts that slowly grew in popularity.

Here are some highlights of Naomi’s rise to fame, starting back from 2010!

2010: Blogger Days

In a touching and moving blog post, Naomi penned a personal entry on mothers and urges both readers and her friend (who inspired her to write this particular post) to appreciate them more, earning herself a place on Twitter’s Trending lists as many shared and read this article.

2012: Handling School and Social Media

Her blog turned more studies-centric as Naomi went through her O Levels, with posts on stress relief and time management between social media activities and revision.

Unlike most of her posts which vary from beauty tips to life updates, she offers solutions and advice to students, using acronyms like “COPES” and sharing studying websites on her entries. One can see a more serious and studious side of this bubbly influencer as she takes a step back on her filming activities to concentrate on her grades.

2013: Taking On A Controversial Topic: A Discussion On ITE

Before the lengthy prose that accompanies this blog post, Naomi started off with a disclaimer that she felt strongly about such an issue, leading to her deciding to write about it even with serious qualms on the part of her friends and family.

She gives a fresh take on the mindsets towards and of ITE (Institute of Technological Education) students, citing personal quotes by graduates and offering her own two cents on the institution.

In making such a statement, she met with substantial backlash from many who accused her of being overly harsh and for speaking out on a topic that she had little insight on.

2014: Photoshop Scandal

Naomi was temporarily put in the negative spotlight after a Photoshop flaw in one of her swimwear photographs led to netizens accusing her of corrupting young girls’ minds and perpetuating stereotypical ideals of beauty.

To that, she replied with a direct Instagram post, saying “w** is wrong with editing photos? C’mon guys find something better to pick on. If you think everything you see online is REAL then you’re pretty delusional’”, earning herself added respect on the part of several fans who agreed with the reality she had painted.

Many flooded her post with positive and encouraging comments, urging her to ignore any hurtful criticism and to do as she sees fit online.

2015: #NaoHao No More

After 1.5 years as one of Singapore’s most famous youth couples, Naomi broke up with local personality Jianhao Tan, and posted an emotional and raw post on the experience.

This left fans who had taken to calling them “NaoHao” crushed as many had been supportive of the couple.

Citing reasons like peer pressure and work clashes, she went public with her breakup and even shared on some personal details like her cheating on him with a friend while they were still exclusive.

2016: Marigold Peel Fresh Scandal

She was one of many local personalities who drew flak for unrealistic advertising as part of her partnership with Marigold. Naomi had posted a picture of herself with a one-litre carton of Marigold Peel Fresh Apple Juice, stating that “I’m always carrying around a carton of my favourite MARIGOLD PEEL FRESH juice”.

Many online entertainment blogs and fans criticized her and other Instagram influencers for blatantly lying or overexaggerating in their sponsored adverts, with comments such as “Bad product placement.” and “Are you sure?”

2017: Awards!

Under Influence Asia 2017, Naomi won the title of “Top Lifestyle Influencer” in the Singapore category. She made a video to thank her fans for nominating her as well as a meet-and-greet vlog from her time at the awards ceremony in Kuala Lumpur which cemented her position as youth personality in Singapore.

2018: Wedding teaser and reveal video

Naomi posted a photo of her in a dove grey dress on Instagram on March 3, which people took as an indication that she had gotten married already. A few weeks later, she posted her wedding video as mentioned above.

Read about Naomi’s wedding and what her parents have to say about it.

She revealed that her husband’s initial was H, and that they got married a day after their first year anniversary. He was also a very private person, she said, and he preferred to stay out of the spotlight.

Now: Expecting mum

Just last week, Naomi revealed in an Instagram post that she was pregnant. In a tasteful black bra and panty, she took a photo in front of a mirror which revealed her pregnant tummy. She later posted a video detailing how many months she’s been pregnant and how her family and then-boyfriend reacted to the news.

Read more details about Naomi Neo’s pregnancy here.

And there you have it, Naomi’s top milestones and highlights till the present day!

Who is Joal Ong?

Recently, the name Joal Ong has gone viral on forums and on social media. Read on to find out more about him and who he is! Yes, it’s spelt with an ‘a’ instead of the usual ‘e’. That’s because Joel is too common a name for a famous influencer who is trending online.

How did Joal Ong become famous?

Joal Ong used to be an Instagrammer and YouTuber. He features his adventures, photos, and videos with ex-girlfriend Christabel Chua (better known as Bellywellyjelly) on the YouTube channel JustAnotherCouple.

He also acted on a few local TV series including Channel 5’s “Exposed” and Channel 8’s “Against the Tide”.

In 2016, he participated in the Indie Collaborate Quick Fire Box Challenge. In 2017, he was featured in a Lazada contest where winners (contestants had to share their worst date stories) could go on a dream date with Joal.

He has an inactive fan club on Instagram, @teamjo_, with a fervent fan base of 36 individuals who are still following his fan club account even though Joal Ong had deleted all his social media accounts recently.

There are still traces of him remaining online though.

His SoundCloud account is still around and his Famous Birthday profile for celebrities like him is still online. If the profile is accurate, Joal Ong is apparently a famous Instagram star in Singapore who was born on Feb 16, 1994. He is 24 this year and his zodiac is Aquarius.

Relationship with Christabel Chua (Bellywellyjelly)

Many may know Joal Ong as another top Singapore influencer, Christabel Chua (Bellywellyjelly)’s ex-boyfriend. The pair dated casually for 9 months before officially getting together.

On an issue of CLEO Magazine, Joal was interviewed under an article titled “Boyfriends of Instagram” in September 2016. He mentioned that he had first met Christabel during a video shoot for The Smart Local and also acted together for a web comedy series shortly after.

He also featured in a Smart Local video with Christabel where they shared on how they first met and got together.

On a Nuyou interview, Joal and Christabel had discussed their vlogs and how they took couple “wefies”.

The past couple had travelled across the world and posted several vlogs of their trips on their shared YouTube account (which has since been taken down).

Mentions by Xiaxue

Singapore’s reigning queen bee in the influencers scene, Xiaxue has recently taken to Twitter and Facebook to directly send cryptic messages to Joal Ong.

For example, she tweeted “Good morning to everyone but Joal Ong” on 10 April 2018 and shared an article on 19 April stating “Someone send this to Joal Ong #selfishbastard”.

If you are impressed by Joal Ong’s portfolio of works that are still available online and is interested to work with him, here is his email, as seen on his cloudbreakr account:

Social Blade lists him with a real time YouTube subscribers base of 446, with over 14k video views and a C rating as an influencer:

Social Blade also estimates that Joal Ong can earn around $3 to $44 per year from his YouTube channel, with an estimated earning of around 23 cents to $4 a month. It is a waste that he decided to give all these up, forfeiting his glamorous influencer lifestyle to vanish into thin air. Maybe with enough sponsors, advertisers and fan support, Joal Ong will make a comeback to the Singapore influencers scene.

Guy proposes with KPOP dance moves at Sentosa but sadly gets rejected!

$

Recently, a thread on Hardware Zone’s EDMW Forum showed videos of an elaborate K-Pop dance cover at Sentosa which unfortunately led to a failed proposal.

What happened?

The video starts off with 7 teenage girls and 1 teenage boy doing a dance cover of K-Pop group BLACKPINK’s As If It’s Your Last in front of the Lake of Dreams at Sentosa.

After finishing the dance at around 3:33, the male dancer starts taking action while the girls surround him and one of the dancers (his supposed girlfriend). The girl seems to suspect that something is up and is corralled by the other dancers to face the boy. He then holds both her hands and pulls her towards him while the dancers and a forming crowd looks on.

He bends down on one knee and the girl immediately tries to urge him to stand up, but he persists. The boy in the video then bends down on one knee again to propose and the girl, seemingly shocked by the gesture, rejects the proposal by running away.

The end of the video shows the girl accidentally knocking over a passing young child in her haste to get away from the scene. The little girl on the floor starts crying in shock and the two dancers rush to her aid while the other dancers leave in the opposite direction with the dejected boy. With the crying little girl being carried away by her bemused mother, the 2 dancers then head in the direction of the girlfriend and seemingly chase after her as well.

Who is she?

Forum users on Hardware Zone speculate that the girl in question could be Kylie Ng Siew Zhen, who had gone viral a while ago. This is due to the video appearing on a Facebook post linked to her.

Remarks by Forum Users

There have been a range of reactions by forum users.

Some expressed sympathy for the guy as he seemed extremely crestfallen when the girl rejected him.

Others were suspicious of the entire set-up and accused the video of being fake and scripted. They felt that the performance may simply have been an attempt to go viral or gain views.

Some netizens sided the girl and criticized the boy for going public with the proposal, reasoning that the girl might not have enjoyed such a huge audience and that he could have chosen a less pressurizing way to propose.

A group of forum users were indifferent towards the proposal and mostly indignant that the girl had not bothered to look back even after knocking over the clearly startled small child.

In any case, this proposal is nothing compared to this crazy over-the-top proposal at last year with fountain, lasers, a video of Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and more. Coincidentally, the proposal took place at Sentosa as well.

What do you think of this? Let us know in the comments below!

Celebrity Hairstylist David Gan voices his opinions on local artistes!

Most recently, the Star Awards 2018 have generated lots of reactions due to changes in format and the reveal of unexpected and surprising award winners. Of course, the faces of local actresses and actors are definitely familiar to Singaporeans who follow local TV dramas and shows. We often forget, however, that behind each celebrity’s glamorous presence are stylists that organise their entire ensemble and look for them. One such stylist would be celebrity hairstylist David Gan, who has worked in Singapore for local public figures for over 20 years.

On Instagram, David is known for posting candid and blunt statements showcasing his views on local artistes and local company Mediacorp.

For example, he shared this snippet of a conversation in Mandarin, supposedly between him and a friend, on his Instagram story.

The conversation goes roughly as follows:

Friend: (quoting a title from a local Chinese magazine) “Zaobao – Although Rebecca Lim is set to be Mediacorp’s next “Ah Jie”, the way she carries herself cannot be compared to senior celebrities like Jeannette Aw and Rui En. Whenever these 2 mentioned celebrities attend an award show or event, Rebecca Lim would immediately lose the spotlight. This clearly shows that even with supporters and patrons, celebrities can’t sway the hearts of local TV fans that easily.”

David: “I don’t agree. Rebecca Lim is still young thus there isn’t much basis for comparison. Zaobao writers are ignorant of the matters of the media, if you asked them if they had ever dealt with or seen a huge sum of money such as $10 million, they probably haven’t! Maybe only $10 million in Indonesian Rupiah!”

Friend: (laughs) “The reason why they would publish such an article is because they have run out of material to report on.”

David: “Let them write what they want, they have nothing else worth reporting. This is their job. After studying and getting a degree, all they write is dog shit. They only know how to make petty comparisons, should we get them to compare wealth status among themselves as well? Based on Rebecca Lim’s current popularity level, she can easily overtake Jeanette Aw and Rui En when she reaches their age. Why can’t Zaobao take on a more encouraging approach, why do they have to write such toxic articles? This brings nothing but harm to the local entertainment industry. What the artistes need are encouragement and charisma. If Zaobao writers are really as clever as they think they are, they should compare their writing standards with China, Taiwan and Hong Kong journalists.”

It is clear to see that David is extremely candid in sharing his views as his account is open to public to view. He also defends rising stars in the media industry which he is a part of.

He also comments on local artistes in his posts, such as in the feature above where he raves about Kym, who is a renowned figure in Singapore as well as his close friend.

He also praises celebrities like Joanne Peh, whom he feels has what it takes to be a true star and actress.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!

Joal Ong is Singaporean Edison Chen, says Taiwan News

Taiwan entertainment website ET Today has published an article on Joal Ong, saying that he is Singapore’s Edison Chen. Below is a translated excerpt of the article which was written in Mandarin:

Singapore’s famous blogger Joal Ong has betrayed several of his Singaporean and Malaysian celebrity former girlfriends by leaking private videos of and with them.

Following the incident, 3-4 other female figures have been identified. It is reported in the article that he and these ladies had experimented in different ways intimately.

Joal leaking these videos has led to backlash on the part of indignant netizens.

The videos are reportedly filmed with a straight-down angle and some of them even feature music suiting the atmosphere in the background.

One of the girls is mentioned in the article is said to be famous in the entertainment industry. She is said to be known for her voice and stage presence. After the videos were posted online, she deleted her Facebook account.

Another figure is featured on the Taiwanese article, and this girl, on the other hand, is supposedly also a famous influencer online. The article states that in her video, she is blindfolded and her bikini tan lines can be seen.

Another one of the figures he leaked a video with, has more than 20 thousand followers online and he had previously dated her.

He featured in many couple shots on her Instagram and the news of them officially breaking up was revealed back in end 2017 when she deleted all the photos with him. In one of this girl’s videos summarizing 2017, she mentioned the breakup but didn’t go into details.

Her emotional stance led to many netizens speculating that the breakup may have been Joal’s fault. Truth is, they had gone official for 3 years after dating for 9 months.

When asked why she dated him, she’s quoted as saying “He takes care of me really well, he is a very reasonable person although he can be a bit compulsive and plans out his entire week. He helps to adjust my thinking and he is always there for me when I need him”.

In a separate instance, Singaporean top blogger Xiaxue has mentioned Joal recently. She specifically called out his name when she greeted people a good morning, but only to exclude him.

She also posted this, which mentioned Joal Ong’s bed sheets.

In another post, she tweeted this article and asked people to show it to Joal Ong.

Read about Edison Chen and why Joal Ong is said to be his Singaporean counterpart.

Aside from these leaks, what else do we know about Joal Ong? Take a look at our profile of this person here, and let us know what you think.

Café manager of Luxe Singapore scolds customers over a cheap purchase

Instagrammer Chelsea Teng has taken to social media to report on an unpleasant experience at a café called Luxe Singapore where she had allegedly been scolded with vulgarities for only ordering ice cream: let’s take a look at what happened!

Facebook and Instagram Updates

Chelsea posted text posts on her Instagram story to explain the whole incident as seen below:

Some of her followers replied to her stories and she posted these responses in another text post:

She also posted screenshots of these Instagram story posts on her Facebook account with the caption:

“Just my two cents on the worst encounter I’ve had at an F&B outlet – Luxe Singapore at Keong Saik Road. Though I stayed less than an hour, I was demanded to buy more than “just a fucking ice cream” because the owner “had rent to pay”. ”

Summary of Events

Chelsea had allegedly stopped at Luxe SG café for a short break and ordered ice cream for herself and her friend. After sitting and dining for about 15 minutes, she was first reportedly approached by the manager who was apparently insistent on them ordering a drink or more food as they had “already taken pics here, used our space”. Towards this request, she declined.

After the first encounter, Chelsea went to foot the bill with a (pleasant) waiter and settled some transactional errors and the manager walked up to her again.

Reportedly, he tried to advise her against making cheap purchases (in this case, “just a scoop of ice cream”) as it would constitute taking up space in the restaurant and costing the restaurant (which has to pay rent). When she defended herself, the owner allegedly used vulgarities (“don’t just go to a café buying a f***ing ice cream”) which upset her so much she teared up.

Chelsea ended up with a summary of the incident and advising followers against visiting the café, which she tagged.

Chelsea also proceeded to post a 1* review on Luxe SG’s Facebook page.

Luxe SG has not responded to this incident as of posting.

What do you think about this incident? Do you agree with Chelsea or with the café managers’s view? Let us know in the comments below!

Ex-Tampines Rover Jermaine Pennant appears on his wife’s webcam porn stream, says he’s “not a pornstar.”

Just after his return to the United Kingdom from a failed stint as a Singaporean football team player, Jermaine Pennant, 35, allegedly appeared on his wife’s stream on popular pornography streaming site Babestationcams.

Instagram Photo

Caught on cam with his glamour model wife

According to reports, his wife, 32-year-old Alice Goodwin, was streaming on the online pornography platform to her followers when a man’s hand appeared on cam to caress Alice. People noticed that the man’s hand had the word LOVE tattooed on the knuckles, which is one of the same tattoos that Jermaine is currently sporting.

Instagram Photo

His wife, Alice, who is also a glamour model, has millions of views of her work on Babestationcams and Adultwork. These are webcam streaming services for users to view women working in the online pornography industry. Usually, viewers are required to pay to view a woman’s stream.

For Alice, who is very popular on both platforms, she charges you £4 for a group viewing, which means that you and everyone who wants to watch simply pays that amount and you are able to see Alice during her webcam sex sessions.

For private viewing, Alice charges £6.

Her profile on the streaming services says, “‘I’m looking forward to having some naughty 1 to 1 fun with you all on webcam.”

Recently, she tweeted the announcement below:

Not a secret she’s his wife

With more liberal views on pornography and sex work in the United Kingdom, most of Jermaine’s and Alice’s fans are aware that they are husband and wife. Some users suspect that the ex-Tampines player appears in her streams, but he has allegedly been very careful not to reveal his face.

This time, though, the camera was very near his hand, which was touching his wife’s private parts, and the distinct tattoos on his knuckles could be seen.

The UK press are calling him a porn star, and he doesn’t like it

When the news broke, UK tabloids were quick to pick up the story, and even branded him a “porn star” since he appeared in pornographic content along with his wife.

Instagram Photo

Jermaine did not like this allegation, and said in interviews that he has his lawyers looking into the matter. he says he is concerned for the welfare of his family and friends in light of calling him a porn star.

As for his wife, she is concerned on the matter. He is the stepdad of Alice’s daughter.

A fall from grace?

Jermaine’s hyped entrance into the Singapore League caused quite a stir and made 2000 fans troop to see his games back in January. This number of attendees was previously unheard-of in the Singapore scene.

But everything went downhill from there as he failed to deliver on his own hype. Despite the $20,000+++ salary, his run with the Tampines Rovers was plagued with injuries and disappointments.

Instagram Photo

His last game with the team was marked with a startling exclusion from the starting lineup, where he was only let into the game during the last 38 minutes.

He had left after that game, going back to the United Kingdom with no fanfare at all, and with no announcements.

According to reports, he was offered other slots on different teams in Southeast Asia, but not at the same rate as he was given when he first arrived. He declined these offers.

In what was supposed to be his return to the football scene, he had signed on with Essex non-league side Billericay Town. But after the UK tabloids broke the news of his involvement in his wife’s webcam stream, he left the football club.

Man was punched by Grab driver and had his teeth knocked out!

According to a thread on HardwareZone and an article on Zaobao, a Grab driver apparently punched a rider and knocked 4 of his teeth out!

Here’s a rough translation of the Zaobao article:

Mr. Henry He had brought his child to his Grab ride without giving the driver a heads-up and the child was shorter than 1.35m, where children under 1.35m require booster seats or child restraints under the law. Although taxis are usually exempt from the law, Grab drivers are required to abide by it. The driver had refused to fetch him and requested for Mr. He to cancel the ride, which ended in a physical dispute.

Details of the Incident

Reportedly, the incident had taken place on 12th May at around 11.50am at Block 727 Yishun Street 71’s carpark. The incident later went viral online and caught the attention of netizens.

When interviewed, Mr. Henry He, 35, said this:

“I rarely take Grab rides with my children, so I didn’t know I needed a child seat,” he said. “I assumed that the driver would cancel, but it was such a shock when the dispute escalated and he punched me.”

He had been with his wife and 2 sons (5 and 8 years old) at that time and had hired a Grab to bring the family out for an outing. After the Grab driver had refused to let the family onboard and drove off, Mr. he had called a new Ryde private hire and was about to leave when the Grab driver returned to the venue and prevented them from leaving.

Reportedly, the Grab driver did so as he believed that Mr. He had not cancelled the Grab ride yet. Mr. He rebuked by saying that he had not had time to cancel the original Grab ride and this started a conflict which turned physical.

The Grab driver’s punch to Mr. He’s jaw then knocked out 4 of his teeth and he called the police on the spot. the Grab driver reportedly then made an attempt to flee the scene as the police arrived.

After the incident, Mr. He was told that he would require dental implants and surgery to fix his fractured teeth, which he estimates would cost up to $30,000.

“I can’t talk or eat well, and the pain has given me a lot of discomfort,” he said, adding that he continues to take painkiller regularly. It has also affected my interactions with others, especially at work.”

Grab actually offers GrabFamily rides for an extra 2 dollars to ensure that families get a safe ride to their destinations. These cars under the GrabFamily scheme are equipped with child seats or booster seats that can be utilised.

Some netizens tried to explain the incident, alluding it to Grab’s policy of having to pay for ride cancellations.

Those of you who follow the Miss Universe Singapore pageant may be aware that Tyen Rasif is one of this year’s contestants. This is interesting news partly as many may have heard of her sister Jade Rasif, who is a local DJ and actress. Furthermore, Tyen’s participation shows that the pageant is slowly expanding to include not just the conventional “beauty queen” image but also other body types, such as Tyen’s muscular and athletic physique!

Let’s get to know Tyen better!

About Tyen

Tyen Rasif is a full-time student at the moment. She is a third-year business management, marketing and communications undergraduate from the Singapore Management University. Apart from studying, Tyen is a freelance fitness trainer and bodybuilder as well.

She has experience in both modelling and in the fitness scene.

Earlier this month, she placed third and fourth in the women’s bikini fitness national and international categories respectively at the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Singapore Nationals. Amazingly, she can deadlift 120kg and do an 80kg squat, and she works out at least 4-5 days a week.

These fitness sessions and her healthy lifestyle are all documented on her social media platforms such as Instagram and her Youtube channel. Many of Tyen’s followers also benefit from her coaching videos on weightlifting. She was featured as Singapore’s “#Fitspo of the week” by The Straits Times back in 2016 as well.

Previously, Tyen had also participated in The New Paper New Face 2013 where she came in second.

When Tyen was young, she grew up as an underweight child and was diagnosed with clinical depression at 17, a time when she had a poor appetite and weighed only 40kg. According to her interview with TODAYonline, weightlighting helped her manage her depression and anxiety when she was a teenager. This was brought about when her father, rogue lawyer David Rasif (who is still at large ) left the family and ran off with $11.3 million of his clients’ money in 2006. Clearly, her fitness journey has brought her far to become the healthy and inspirational woman she is today!

Apart from fitness and modelling, Tyen is also a performer and singer! She had undertook theatre studies at the School Of The Arts for six years and sang in a local music duo called Tyen&Vishaalb.
